Big band orchestra of Tbilisi caused unforgettable moments in the audience of the Gabala festival.
It is already one week that the X Gabala International Music Festival makes glad the music lovers and guests of the city with interesting concert programs. The concert of “Tbilisi Big band” orchestra that had come from George, was presented to the audience in the chamber hall of Heydar Aliyev Congress Centre in Gabala city in the evening on August 5 within the framework of the festival. At the beginning of the concert it was informed that it is the second time that the collective has participated in the Gabala festival. Big Band Orchestra consisting of professional musicians of Tbilisi City Administration is one of the leading collectives. This collective that was created in 1997, is the only one concert orchestra. The orchestra succeeded several times by staying loyal to pop performing, especially Georgian jazz traditions during last 15 years. Currently there are up to 350 works covering different genres in the orchestra’s repertoire. It includes vocal and instrumental compositions of Georgian and foreign authors. 20 instrumental musicians and 8 vocalists perform in the orchestra. The orchestra was conferred with “Grand-Prix” award in the International Jazz Festival held in Monte Carlo in 2006. Along with the orchestra, famous musicians -G.Sсhiller, B.Mintser, R.Ayers, I.Butman, J.Izaaс, D.Teffer performed. The founder of the orchestra is Gayos Kandelaki, the conductor –Givi Gachechiladze, the director-Kakha Markozashvili. The concert program of the Big Band orchestra acclaimed by the audience.
