The awards ceremony for the winners of the essay contest on the subject "The martyrs do not die, the homeland cannot be divided" was held.

With the organizational support of the Youth and Sports Department of the Gabala region, in order to ensure the implementation of subparagraph 5.1.2 of the State Program "Azerbaijani Youth in 2017-2021", an essay competition was held among pupils of the 9-11 forms of secondary schools of the Gabala region on the theme of "The Martyrs Do Not Die, the Homeland Cannot Be Divided" for the recognition of the national heroes of Azerbaijan and the youth, who showed courage in the battles for territorial integrity. Up to 20 teenagers-young people took part in the competition among secondary schools of the region. December 6, 2018 in the auditorium of the Region Executive Power, the total competition and the award ceremony took place. Opening the event with the introductory speech, the head of the Region Youth and Sports Department Fakhri Soltanov welcomed the participants and informed about the end of the competition, speaking about the goals and objectives of the competition, he said that the purpose of the essay competition is to educate young people, based on the principles of patriotism, statehood and Azerbaijanism, as well as in the promotion of examples of heroism among young people. At the event, methodologist of the Regional Educational Department Aslan Shirazov in his speech said that the competition plays an important role in the patriotic education of the younger generation, serves recognition of the martyrs who own exceptional services in the history of Azerbaijan’s independence and congratulated the winners. In accordance with the competition rules, 1, 2, 3 people were awarded I, II, III places respectively. According to the results of the essay contest, a student of a full secondary school in Zalam village Aytaj Aghayeva took the 1st place, a student of the full secondary school No. 4 of Gabala city Lala Hajiyeva and a student of a full secondary school of Yenikend village Goncha Shirinova took the 2nd place, a student of the full secondary school No. 2 of Gabala city Kanan Mirzazade, a student of the secondary school No. 3 of Gabala city Fidan Javadli and a student of the secondary school of Amirvan village Aysun Bayramova were awarded the 3rd place. The winners were awarded with diplomas and memorable gifts of the Main Youth and Sports Department.
