Memorial table tennis tournament dedicated to the “Memorial Day of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev” was held.

The Youth and Sports Department of Gabala region held the memorial table tennis tournament among teenagers in the Gabala region Children – Youth Sport – Chess School on December 11, 2018 in accordance with the series of action plan dedicated to the “Memorial Day of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev”. The purpose of the tournament is to inform the public about the work implemented by Heydar Aliyev for the sake of the development of our modern Azerbaijan, Great Leader’s activity in the field of strengthening the economic potential of our country who spent his entire life for his native people and laid the foundation of the national statehood, the reforms conducted in the field of sports, and in every field, as well as to ensure the increase and the improvement of the competitiveness of the race participants. First of all, tournament participants commemorated the National Leader Heydar Aliyev with a minute of silence. Then the head of the Youth and Sports Department Fakhri Soltanov and the director of Gabala region Children – Youth Sport – Chess School Adalat Aliyev spoke about Heydar Aliyev’s life and activity, his indispensable services in establishing and strengthening the independent Azerbaijan Republic, works implemented in the sports field and achievements of our country. The speakers wished success to the athletes and delivered a speech about strengthening the material and technical basis of the sport, care and attention paid to the athletes by Mr. President Ilham Aliyev in Gabala region, as well as in the whole republic. At the Memorial tournament, up to 20 athletes demonstrated an intense game. According to the final results, Amil Aghakarimov took the 1st place, Fagan Aghakarimov the 2nd place and Rais Abdullayev the 3rd place. Diplomas and memorial gifts from the Youth and Sports Department of Gabala region were presented to the winners.
