Memorial Day of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev was marked with great respect in Gabala as well as throughout the country. On December 12, thousands of people of Gabala visited Heydar Aliyev Park where his tomb was erected to pay respect to the memory of the great leader. Head of Gabala Region Executive Power Sabuhi Abdullayev, staff of law enforcement agencies, departments and entities, educational, health, cultural and educational institutions and private organizations laid flowers at the monument of the National Leader. They expressed their profound respect to the Great Leader. The memorial ceremony was continued at Gabala Culture Center. The works of local artists and pupils dedicated to the Great Leader were demonstrated at the center. Making a speech at the event, Sabuhi Abdullayev, the head of the Gabala Region Executive Power gave detailed information about the political activities of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev. It was noted that every page, every moment of the activities of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, who remained eternal in the history of statehood of our nation, did significant work for his country and people, coincides with the stages of development of the history of Azerbaijan. It was noted that great Heydar Aliyev laid the sound foundation for the rise of the national spirit, national self-consciousness, restoration of historical memory of the people, realization of the ideas of independent statehood as the head of the republic in the years of the Soviet Union. Despite of the prohibitions of the harsh Soviet regime, not only he bravely did not allow the national spirit to be kept down in Azerbaijan, but also he was able to use all reasonable endeavors to raise it, and took foresighted steps in order to allow the Azerbaijani youth to continue their education at the prestigious universities of the former Soviet Union and increase scientific and personnel potential. It was noted that in 1993, when Azerbaijan faced the destruction as a state, our wise leader Heydar Aliyev, who returned to power by the people`s insistence foresightedly prevented the separation, loss of its independence of Azerbaijan, which faced serious social-political problems, economic difficulties, hostile aggression, military confrontation, and ensured socio-political stability. It was noted in the speech of the head of REP that the fact that the state building process founded by our Great Leader Heydar Aliyev is being pursued by the President Ilham Aliyev with high perseverance caused great enthusiasm among our people. Thanks to the success of his strategic development course, independent Azerbaijan has become a leader country in the region. As a result of the persistent work of the head of state, our statehood is strengthening day by day and the role and reputation of Azerbaijan in the international arena is growing. And the name of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, who laid the foundation for these achievements, will always live in the hearts of the appreciative Azerbaijani people, each of us. At the end of the event a literary and artistic composition dedicated to the great personality was presented to the participants.
