The Minister of Agriculture met with farmers in Gabala.

Minister of Agriculture Inam Karimov met with farmers of the Gabala region. Representatives of the ministry’s staff, authorized representatives of the region executive power, representatives of subordinate organizations of the ministry, state agricultural development centers and farmers working in various fields of agriculture were present at the meeting held in the executive power of the Gabala region. Opening the event with introductory remarks, Sabuhi Abdullayev, head of the Gabala Region Executive Power, said that state support is being provided to the development of agriculture in the country. Noting that Gabala is traditionally an agricultural region, the head of REP said that a lot of work has been done in the region to develop this area, which is the basis of the economy. S.Abdullayev stressed that thanks to the attention and care of the state in recent years, grain growing, fruit growing, viticulture, sericulture, tobacco growing, animal husbandry and other spheres of agriculture have been developing in the region. Minister of Agriculture Inam Karimov noted that as a result of the policy pursued by President Ilham Aliyev, the agricultural sector, as well as other sectors of the economy, has entered a qualitatively new stage of development. The Minister said that the agricultural sector is leading in the non-oil sector of the country: "For even more development of the agricultural sector, the state takes significant support measures. Subsidies are provided for the development of grain growing, seed production, livestock farming, beekeeping, sugar beet and cotton cultivation. In particular, the state applies discounts in the provision of agricultural machinery in the agricultural sector. In our activities we are guided by the principles of proximity to villagers and farmers, right and effective management and application of innovation. The purpose of the meeting is listening to the concerns and problems of the farmers and take immediate action." The Minister informed about the current state of development of the agrarian sector in Azerbaijan, about the tasks and measures that need to be taken. During the meeting, farmers shared their views on the area which they deal with. At the event, there was an exchange of views on the supply of mineral fertilizers, drugs, herbicides and pesticides, including the provision of equipment, as well as proposals of farmers were registered and answers were given to their questions.
