A census workshop was held.
In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On conducting a population census in the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2019” dated on September 7, 2016, the next population census will be held in our republic from October 1 to 10, 2019. Serious preparatory work is being carried out in the Gabala region to conduct this important state event for our country at a high level. In order to conduct preparatory work in connection with the census, to hold it in the optimal order and to work out the results, a seminar-meeting was held at city school No. 5. Opening the seminar-meeting, the Deputy Head of the Gabala Region Executive Power Arif Allahverdiyev informed the participants of the event about the essence of the census, brought to the attention that the census is of exceptional importance in terms of the timely collection, synthesis, study and dissemination of demographic, economic and social information related to to all citizens of the country. He also noted that the census leads to the preparation of detailed information on the population, location, composition and important features for a certain period. The Head of the Region Statistics Department Ayaz Isgandarov noted that in 1999 the first census was conducted in the independent Azerbaijan Republic, described the relevance of the census in our time as an advanced monitoring study. He emphasized that data on population growth are an important source of information in the management of socio-economic processes, the development and implementation of socio-economic programs in the country, explained the tasks facing census officials. At the workshop, answers were given to all participants' questions related to the census.
