An event was held in memory of the martyrs of January 20th.

On January 16th, 2020, the Local History Museum of the Gabala Region organized a round table at the Heydar Aliyev Center dedicated to the memory of the martyrs of January 20th on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the tragedy. Director of the museum Hagigat Rustamli and employees told in detail about the January tragedy in their speeches. It was noted that on the night of January 19th to 20th, 1990, military units of the former Soviet Army committed an unprecedented massacre towards civilians of Baku, who rose against the violators to create an independent state and gain sovereignty. The military killed numerous innocent people. In conclusion of the event, a film about the tragedy was shown.
