One of important directions of successful reforms implemented in our country in the field of healthcare is the use of compulsory medical insurance. The purpose of compulsory medical insurance is to reduce the burden of the population related to medical expenses, to ensure the availability of high-quality medical services and to achieve citizen satisfaction. As in other areas of the north-western region of our republic, in Gabala, starting from January 1, the application of compulsory medical insurance began. The transition to compulsory medical insurance system will provide an opportunity to provide the region population with high-quality and comprehensive medical services that will be used by over 95 thousand residents. In Gabala, with the joint organization of State Agency for Obligatory Medical Insurance and the region executive power, educational activities were implemented related to the use of obligatory medical insurance in November-December last year, the population was informed in detail about the advantages of the system. Related to the transition to compulsory medical insurance system, registration centers were created in 3 places to ensure the satisfaction of citizens who apply to the District Medical and Diagnostic Center Public Legal Entity. A resident applying to the Family Health Center will be first taken by a family doctor. Then, in order to undergo a research, he/she will be sent to corresponding department, if necessary, directed to specialized doctors. 14 thousand 815 people have been applied to the hospital since the beginning of January. 151 people among them were involved in inpatient, 6 thousand 541 people in outpatient treatment. During the day, at average 350-400 people applied to the hospital.
