Preventive measures will save Azerbaijan from the pandemic.

At present, all the world is mobilized to fight against COVID-19. Today, one of the main tasks of the World Health Organization is to defeat this virus. Even before the coronavirus pandemic, Azerbaijan took resolute measures to fighting against it, all the necessary measures to prevent the spread of and realize preventive measures related to the virus and protect the health of the population were realized at the highest level. All the possible conditions were created for those who were in quarantine, and available opportunities were used to the maximum. By installing modular hospitals additional reserve of 2,000 beds was created in the health system of the country. It is gratifying that 4 of these 10 hospitals are being built at expense of the funds of private sector. As known, at the initiative of the President of the Republic, a Foundation was created to support the fighting against coronavirus, initially, 20 million manats were allocated to this Foundation from the President's reserve fund. Today, thanks to entrepreneurs, private sector and ordinary citizens, the amount accumulated in the Foundation has exceeded 110 million manats. It shows once again that our people can unite, show solidarity and unity at difficult time. At the same time, public organizations, first of all, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and other public organizations, entrepreneurs provided humanitarian aid to people with poor financial situation, and this process is going on. However, everyone knows that in this fighting, of course, the main burden falls on the state of Azerbaijan. The state of Azerbaijani does everything possible so that we can overcome this situation with the least losses. The health of Azerbaijani citizens is at the centre of all the measures taken, and, today, thanks to preventive measures, the situation is completely under control. Over the past 10 days, the number of infections has increased. This follows from the fact that during the period of easing, some citizens showed irresponsibility. In spite of this, the situation is completely under control. Azerbaijan is one of the rare countries in the world where all the patients with coronavirus are treated in medical institutions. The world practice is absolutely different. In many countries, people who have had the disease without symptoms, ill people are treated at home. Of course, it puts their health at risk. One of the reasons for low mortality rate because of coronavirus in Azerbaijan is that all the infected patients are accepted to medical institutions and provided with necessary services. In our country, all the preventive measures have been taken in such a way as to be prepared for the most difficult situation. With this purpose, 23 new laboratories were purchased. For the treatment of the patients with coronavirus, Azerbaijan has allocated the most advanced hospitals. The number of these hospitals exceeds 20. The World Health Organization called Azerbaijan model country in this field. Main task of the President of the country is to protect the people against this disease and to save their lives. Of course, there are some losses, however, compared to some countries, the situation in Azerbaijan is much better. It shows that if there is well-thought-out policy, unity between the people and the government and strong belief in the measures taken by the state, there will be also a result. Azerbaijani people highly appreciate this service. Every day thousands of people address grateful letters to the head of the country. To date, the number of people infected with coronavirus in Azerbaijan has reached 8 thousand, more than 350 thousand tests have been conducted, and our state is in leading position in terms of the number of tests per person. By order of the head of state, our industrial opportunities were also used. In a short time, the enterprises that produce medical masks and other necessary equipment and clothing started functioning. The coronavirus has not disappeared and will not disappear. In accordance with general opinion of doctors, people will suffer from this disease until a vaccine is invented. Therefore, everyone should be ready to live within new behaviour rules. Our people have always demonstrated unity and will continue to do so. New medical facilities are being built and created in the capital and other central cities of the country. This is where the largest number of the patients are treated. Equipment manufactured in recent years, produced by leading companies, makes it possible to provide the treatment for any patient. The selfless work of medical workers and doctors working in this field has always been highly appreciated by the President Ilham Aliyev: "I, the state of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani people, have observed during this period that doctors are faithful to Hippocratic oath and honourably perform their duty. There are also infected doctors who, at the risk of their own lives, treat patients and bring them back to life. It's no coincidence that, at my initiative, famous slogan "Glory to Azerbaijani doctors" appeared in the Flame towers, which are one of new symbols of our country and city." As in every region of our native Azerbaijan, the work done in connection with the coronavirus is highly appreciated in Gabala. The number of grateful letters from Gabala residents to Mr. President Ilham Aliyev is growing day by day. The disinfection works are going on in all the public places of the region, in residential apartments. A 200-bed modular hospital is being completed in the city centre.
