Regional competition on athletics for “Volunteers Cup” was held.
On September 18, 2020 “Volunteers Cup” competition on athletics organized by Youth and Sports Department of Gabala district was held in Gabala Olympic Sports Complex. The aim of the competition is to increase social activity among young people through a healthy lifestyle and sports competitions, to achieve the widespread of athletics, to improve competence in this type of sports and to determine the composition of the national team of the district. At the opening ceremony of the competition Head of the Youth and Sports Department Fakhri Soltanov made a speech and inform about the aims and objectives of the competition, talked about the comprehensive state care for sports in our country and wished good luck to the teams. The competition was held on types of 4x100 meters (relay) and 400 meters running according to the rules of the International Association of Athletics Federations. In accordance with the final result of the competition, Mirzabayli village team took I place in the relay stage. In 400 meters running Kamran Muradov took I place, Nijat Giyasov took II place and Rahman Asgarov took III place. Finally, athletes and teams taking I, II and II places were awarded diplomas of the Youth and Sports Department.
