The statement of the President of France Emmanuel Macron does not serve to ensure regional and international security.

03 October 2020 | 16:00

Starting from 06:00 AM on September 27, armed forces of Armenia, using different types of the weapons, including heavy artillery, have fired at the settlements in several directions, at the same time, military positions. As a result of the fire by arch-enemy, 17 Azerbaijani civilians were killed, including 2 children, and there are also dead militaries. During such a period, along with the countries that support our country, there were also the countries that express biased position, for example, France. The OSCE Budapest summit defined the mandate of Minsk group in December 1994. We were pleased that France was proposed as a co-chair of Minsk group in 1997. The latest statement of Macron clearly proves that we were wrong. The statement made by French President Emmanuel Macron on the latest scenes related to Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict in Riga, the capital of Latvia on September 30, does not correspond to the mediation mission of the country acting as a co-chair of Minsk group established to resolve the conflict. The statement of Macron does not serve to ensure regional and international security. France expresses the attitude that by their statements they do not want to achieve peace, but want to further aggravate the situation. Macron says that they will not bear with the repeated "capture" of Karabakh. This biased statement by France, which does not fit into political ethical rules, shows that this country experiences psychological difficulties in the fulfilling the function of Minsk group co-chair. France is to make special statement about whether it will be able to fulfil this mission in impartial manner. The composition of the OSCE Minsk group should be changed. As the President of the OSCE co-chair country, Macron should at least remain neutral. The relations between Armenia and occupied Azerbaijan should differ in terms of norms and principles of international law, and international pressure should be exerted on Armenia. The statement of the President of a country that fulfils a mediation mission to resolve the conflict through peaceful means, addressed to Armenia and Armenians, saying "I say to Armenia and Armenians, France will play its role", is absolutely unacceptable. This means rewarding the occupier Armenia and encouraging it to occupy new lands. This statement has only one meaning: France will help Armenia and Armenians in continuing the occupation of Azerbaijani lands. By this statement, Macron showed that France showed different attitudes to the parties during the 30-year process of the negotiations. Macron's words that "France is very concerned about Turkey's bellicose statement, this statement removes the responsibility from Azerbaijan and allows the re-conquest of Northern Karabakh (as he says)" calls into question not only that France is fair mediator, but also that it is generally aware of details and history of the conflict. States making such statements should understand that Azerbaijan wages Patriotic war against the occupier, and this war is Patriotic war for the liberation of occupied lands of Azerbaijan. This is our work in the way of truth. Nagorno-Karabakh is not disputed territory, but primordial, eternal and internationally recognized historical land of Azerbaijan. There is no need for a mission of mediators who do not understand this. Karabakh is the land of Azerbaijan, and the liberation of these lands from occupation is the right of Azerbaijan and fully complies with international law. In liberating the lands occupied by Armenia, Azerbaijan is based on international law in all the cases. There is every reason to seriously doubt the activities of Western states, institutions, as well media structures that show biased position in fair fight of Azerbaijan, their professionalism and objectivity. France, the USA, Russia and a number of international organizations call for the resumption of the negotiations on Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict. Over the past two years, the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, has repeatedly brought to the attention of international community that the Pashinyan government refuses to negotiate, and Armenia prepares for the war. International organizations that now protest and make statements against Azerbaijan have been silent for 30 years. France is a country that committed genocide. If you look at recent history of France, it is impossible not to notice pages full of the genocides. The genocides committed by France are not limited to Algeria and Vietnam. Besides, France committed the genocides in Djibouti, Chad, Gabon, and Tunisia, depriving hundreds of thousands of people of their right to life. We advise Macron not to give Azerbaijan advice on Nagorno-Karabakh and make statements, but to set an example of "true democracy" by giving the people of Corsica the principle of nations determining their fate. We respond to Macron with the words of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-chief, Ilham Aliyev: "Our fighting is a matter in the way of truth. Karabakh is Azerbaijani land. The liberation of our lands is our work in the way of truth. We are fighting for our lands, because Karabakh is ours, Karabakh is Azerbaijan!"
