An online meeting was held between the Head of the Gabala Region Executive Power and the Mayor of Gyeongju
On November 16, 2021, an online meeting was held between the Head of the Gabala Region Executive Power and the Mayor of Gyeongju city of the Republic of Korea. Speaking at the online meeting, the Head of the Region Executive Power mentioned that the Republic of Azerbaijan has its say worldwide; the country achieved success both in socio-economic and military spheres. He stressed that our achievements are the result of the successful continuation by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev of the development course set by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev for the progress of our independent country in the socio-economic sphere. During the meeting, it was noted that the Agreement on the Establishment of Friendly Relations between Gabala and Gyeongju signed on August 20, 2015 contributed to further intensification of cooperation between countries in cultural, sports, tourism, economic and other sectors. The parties discussed expansion of collaboration in archeology, tourism and education for further cooperation between Gyeongju and Gabala, as well as bilateral events to be carried out next year dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Korea. In conclusion, it was noted that the Gabala Region Executive Power supports participation of Gyeongju in the race to host the meeting of member states of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Organization to be held on July 6, 2025, wishing success in this matter and emphasizing the importance to expand friendly ties and partnership relations between Gabala and Gyeongju. The online meeting was attended by the employees of the SEBA (Seoul-Baku) Azerbaijan-Korean Cultural Exchange Association Irina Zeynalova and Irada Jafarova.
