The art exhibitional competition was held dedicated to "The 25th anniversary of Khojaly tragedy".

On February 24, 2017 with the organizational support of the Youth and Sports Department, with the participation of Gabala State Art Gallery and the Gabala Arts School, the art exhibitional competition for children, adolescents and young people on the topic of "Khojaly through children's eyes" was held in Gabala Culture Center. The competition was attended by about 60 adolescent and youth artists, presenting about 100 works of art. At first, the memory of the victims of Khojaly genocide was honored with a minute of silence. Opening the competition with the introductory speech, the Head of the Department of Youth and Sports Fakhri Soltanov welcomed the participants, said that the events in Khojaly are a tragic page in our history, while at the same time they are considered to be a symbol of patriotism and heroism, and spoke about the goals and objectives of the event. Then director of the Gabala Culture Center Malik Aghayev, director of the Gabala Arts School Ahmad Gandiyev, a member of the jury Musavar Javadov, speaking of the works presented at the competition, noted in their speeches that the important feature of these art exhibitions is these works being stored for long years, living forever. These drawings are the history of Azerbaijan. In the future these children will turn out great artists and they will definitely remember this day. Young artists were wished success in their future activities. The award ceremony took place after tour of the art exhibition. In accordance with the regulations of the competition, I place was awarded to 1 person, II place - 2 people, III place - 3 people, and 4 people were awarded for their active participation. As a result of the art competition, the I place was awarded to Gunel Shahmuradli, the II places were awarded to Zarifa Rajabova and Aslan Yahyazada, the III places - Hasan Mammadov, Bilal Mammadov and Sahrab Hasanov. Jamila Dashdiyeva, Aslan Valiyev, Nijat Yusifov and Rashida Mehdiyeva were awarded for active participation in the competition. The winners were awarded with diplomas and memorable gifts of Youth and Sports Department.
