The 72 st anniversary of the victory over fascism was celebrated.
On May 9 Gabala hosted an event to celebrate the 72st anniversary of the victory over fascism. Initially, the event participants visited the memorial complex, erected in memory of our compatriots who perished in World War II, laid flowers at the monument to the soldier's mother. Then, in honor of the 72st anniversary of the victory, the tea time was organized. Addressing the meeting, the Head of the District Executive Power Mr. Sabuhi Abdullayev congratulated the veterans on the occasion of the 72st anniversary of the victory over fascism, thoroughly inquired about their problems. In his speech, the Head of the Executive Power said that about 700 thousand Azerbaijanis fought in the Second World War, 6000 Gabala natives fought heroically together with them and about 3000 of our fellow citizens surviving returned to their Motherland. He brought to the attention that the historical prowess of the sons and daughters of Azerbaijan, who passed a glorious way in the battle at the front and selflessly worked in rear, will never be erased from the memory, will be real example of patriotism for the young generation. Then the veterans spoke at the event, who shared their memories from the war. They expressed gratitude to the President Ilham Aliyev for the attention and care of veterans.
