A seminar-meeting was held on the subject "The main directions of the activities of religious communities in the promotion of Islamic solidarity"

On October 13, a seminar-meeting was held in the Gabala Cultural Center entitled "The main directions of the activities of religious communities in the promotion of Islamic solidarity". Opening the event, which was held with the participation of the chairmen of religious communities and public representatives, the Deputy Head of the Gabala Region Executive Power, the Head of the Department for Social, Political and Humanitarian Affairs Ataya Osmanova provided general information about the religious situation in the region. Ataya Osmanova spoke about religious enlightening activities in Gabala, at the same time, about the conditions created for the activities of religious communities. First Deputy Chairperson of the SCRA Sayyad Salahli in his speech noted that the Azerbaijani people recently form the most accurate middle path between atheism and fanaticism. This path encourages the transition from religious ignorance to secular enlightenment and the positive role of Islam in the life of society in this context. This process became one of the main state priorities during the years of independence. Sayyad Salahli said that the main essence of this far-sighted policy pursued by the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev is to harmonize religious values and national characteristics, and to prevent the involvement of Islam in battles, interfaith conflicts, and spiritual stagnation in society. The deputy chairperson, who drew attention to the nonrandomness of "The Year of Islamic Solidarity" announced in our country, told about the formation of a perfect model of Azerbaijan, protecting from the harmful and destructive influences of Islam over the past 25 years in our country, creating examples in many directions. He noted that religious education, state care for religious communities, interfaith communication, which President Ilham Aliyev pays special attention to, play an important role in the struggle against religious radicalism and the spread of extremism in Azerbaijan. During the seminar-meeting the speeches on the topic were made by the Director of the Gabala Tourism and Hotel Business Vocational Training Center Eyvaz Kazimov, the chairperson of the religious community of the mosque in the Gamarvan village Ikram Ziyadov and others. At the end of the seminar-meeting the questions interesting to the leaders of religious communities were answered.
