The participants of the tour-campaign held under the slogan “Learning our country” from 10 cities and regions started to get acquainted with Gabala.

Another educational tour-campaign entitled “Learning our country” was launched from November 16 to 19 for students of the IX-XI grades from the cities and regions of the republic by the order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. Members of 10 groups consisting of schoolchildren from Gusar, Khachmaz, Guba, Shabran, Siyazan, Khizi, Goygol, Tovuz, Agdash and Fuzuli, who participated in the tour-campaign along the route Gabala-Sheki-Zagatala, reached Gabala at noon on November 16. Schoolchildren were met by representatives of the Region Executive Power and Education Department in front of the Heydar Aliyev Centre in Gabala city. After lunch, schoolchildren, who were accommodated in “Qafqaz Karvansaray” and “Qafqaz Sport” Hotels of the region, started to get acquainted with Gabala. According to the program, with the participation of a total of 400 schoolchildren and their supervising teachers, the tree planting campaign was held first on the bank of the river Demiraparan under the slogan “Learning our country”. During the greening campaign, initiated by the IDEA Public Association, schoolchildren planted and watered about 400 firs, maples and oaks. Then during the walk the schoolchildren were informed in detail about the significance of this educational tour-campaign, which will be arranged along the Gabala-Sheki-Zagatala route. It was noted that according to the program of the tour-campaign, they will get acquainted with the work carried out in the direction of social and economic development of the Gabala, Sheki and Zagatala regions, the social facilities, entertainment and recreation centres erected in recent years, historical and cultural monuments, geography, tourist sites, and museums on November 16-19. One of the places that aroused the interest of schoolchildren on the first day of their trip to Gabala was Nohur lake. The schoolchildren who went for a walk around the lake, located in the depths of a forest on the mountainous terrain, took pictures to remember their trips. Then the schoolchildren visited the “Zoo” in the village of the Yengija village, where they received detailed information about the animals kept there. In the evening, the participants of the tour-campaign were shown the movie “Javad khan” that was shot on a patriotic theme in the Cultural Centre of Gabala. The movie aroused great interest among schoolchildren.
