New infrastructure projects: a railway to Gabala will be laid.
The issue of the Baku-Yalama railway repairing and reconstructing found its reflection in the investment program of this year. At the same time, the issue of transferring part of the Baku-Astara railway, in particular, the one close to the sea, will find its solution. President Ilham Aliyev announced this at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers devoted to the results of the social and economic development of 2017 and the forthcoming tasks. The Head of State noted that this would be of great importance both for tourism and for cargo transportation. Another project is included in the state investment program for the development of tourism. This is the construction of the Lyaki-Gabala railway. Today Gabala is the second tourist center in Azerbaijan after Baku. Laying the railway to Gabala will further accelerate the flow of tourists.
