The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev got acquainted with the greenhouse for decorative floriculture in Vandam village, Gabala region on October 28.
The head of our state was informed about the work implemented in the greenhouse.
Director of AzRose LLC, Nijat Mirzayev, said that floriculture is one of the traditional areas of our country with high export potential. In accordance with the commissions and instructions of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, given related to more advantageous use of current economic potential of the regions and development of traditional spheres, necessary work is being implemented in the field of the development of the floriculture. Taking into consideration that this field is traditional in Azerbaijan, that even during the Soviet Union, serious works were implemented in this field, the works implemented in the re-development of floriculture in our country is commendable. Because there is a great demand the world market for the products obtained in this field. In accordance with statistical indicators, about 3 tons of rose oil are produced in the world during the year. Representation of Azerbaijan in this market will attract new currency flow to our country, on the other hand, it will contribute to the glorification of "Made in Azerbaijan" brand in the world. It was noted that the work on creating Gabala floriculture greenhouse was started in November 2017. At the enterprise with a production capacity of 6 million flowers per year, irrigation, lighting, heating and ventilation systems are completely automated. In order to increase productivity, 2005 LED lamps were installed.
During the acquaintance with the sorting and packaging processes, it was reported that the technological innovations of “Bosman van Zaal” with 90 years Dutch experience were applied in the creation of Gabala greenhouse complex. Special rose varieties such as “Red Naomi”, “Avalanj”, “Talea”, “Aqua”, “Sweet Avalanj”, “Jumilia”, “Wow” and “London eye” are grown here. It is planned to export them to local and foreign markets.
Total area of the enterprise, the investment value of which is 19 million manats, is 10 hectares. The greenhouse covers an area of 3 hectares; in the future it is planned to expand this area. At Present, "AzRose" provides 60% of domestic market with flowers. The price is low and favorable. There are also greenhouses in Zira and Shemkir. In common 50 local workers work in greenhouse for decorative floriculture in Vandam village, their average monthly salary is 550 manats. In the future, it is planned to export 40% of the production to Russia, Kazakhstan and other countries.
