Pupils from nine regions got acquainted with historical monuments and tourist sites of ancient and modern Gabala.

During an educational tour-campaign held under the motto "Let’s know our country" on the third day of the excursion, on November 15, pupils from Lerik, Astara, Lankaran, Yardymli, Masally, Jalilabad, Bilasuvar, Khyzy and Absheron regions, who traveled to the north-west of the republic, got acquainted with historical places, modern manufacturing enterprises and tourist sites of the Gabala region. The participants of the tour-campaign first visited the Heydar Aliyev Center and looked at photographs depicting the life and work of the Great Leader. Pupils who visited the Gabala Canning Factory were informed that semi-finished frozen potatoes and potato chips, as well as soft drinks, are produced at the processing plants operating here. Then the pupils got acquainted with the “Tufandagh” Winter-Summer Tourism and Resort Complex. It was noted that at present in this object, which receives the most tourists in the region, there are 4 cable lines and 10 ski slopes. For an interesting organization of leisure for tourists, there was built restaurant with all amenities and a five-star “Tufandagh” hotel, and the ski slope is equipped with an artificial snow generation system. The complex can serve up to 3000 people per day. "Tufandagh" Winter-Summer Tourism and Resort Complex has become the reason for the spread of a new sport in our country - skiing among young people in recent years. The ski center of the complex is of great importance both in terms of tourism development and the wide distribution of new mountain sports. Using the ropeway, pupils climbed to the top of high mountains and admired the landscape of the city of Gabala and took photos for memory. During the acquaintance with the Heydar Aliyev Congress Center, it was noted that on the ground floor of the building there are halls, a restaurant with 350 seats, administrative premises, and on the second floor there is a multifunctional conference hall with 1,200 seats. With the seats down, this room can become flat. Most of the concerts of the annually Gabala International Music Festival are held in this Center. The pupils also liked the excursion to the "Gabaland" Resort and Entertainment Center. In the afternoon, the participants of the tour-action visited the Albanian-Udi "Jotari" church in the village of Nij. It was noted that the church is one of the ancient monuments. In the village of Nij, considered a small model of tolerance, there are three churches and two mosques. In a village with a population of six thousand people live more than four thousand Udis. They have preserved their language, religion and traditions for 2500 years. In the elementary grades of the schools of the village, Udi language is taught. Pupils also visited the Chukhur Gabala Historical and Cultural Reserve and got acquainted with the ruins of the ancient city of Gabala and the results of archaeological excavations in the area, as well as material and cultural samples demonstrated at the Gabala Archaeological Center. After dinner, the participants of the tour will demonstrate their knowledge in intellectual competitions.
