The President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received the credentials of newly appointed Ambassador of Pakistan to Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijan and Pakistan have close ties based on the brotherhood. Pakistan is the third country which recognized the independence of Azerbaijan in 1991, after Turkey and Romania. Shortly after the establishment of diplomatic relations between two countries in 1992, permanent mission of Pakistan was opened in Baku, and of Azerbaijan in Islamabad in August 1997. The relations with Pakistan, the second largest Muslim country in the world, are very important for Azerbaijan. Pakistan, in solidarity with our country, does not recognize Armenia as independent state. In the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Pakistan shows the most support for Azerbaijan related to Karabakh matter. Azerbaijan, in turn, has always supported Pakistan in all the matters, including Kashmir matter. This mutual support reflects fraternal nature of our cooperation. Besides political sphere in bilateral relations, economic matters between two countries was also settled positively. At present, there is great potential for stimulating mutual trade and establishing more active relations in the field of the investment. The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, received the credentials of newly appointed Ambassador of Pakistan to Azerbaijan on September 30, 2020 and provided detailed information about current situation. The remarks, statements, interviews of the President Ilham Aliyev and his speech at the UN General Assembly a few days before new aggression were signal to international community that Armenia should stop its aggression. The President Ilham Aliyev said that Armenia clearly prepared for new war and must be stopped. They launched the attack on villages and combat positions from different directions on September 27, and there were civilian casualties on the previous day. Unfortunately, the number of civilian casualties is increasing today. Armenian armed forces killed 17 civilians, including a family consisting in 5 members, including two children. There are more than 50 wounded civilians. This once again demonstrates fascist nature of Armenian criminal regime. Some territories under the occupation were liberated as a result of counter-offensive of our army. The flag of Azerbaijan was erected in liberated territories. At present, successful counter-offensive of Azerbaijani army is going on. We fight on our own land. Nagorno-Karabakh is integral part of Azerbaijan, and international community recognizes territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. They destroy our historical monuments, mosques, and use undisturbed mosques to keep the animals. Doing so, they insult all the Muslim world. Regardless of whichregime is in power, their Islamophobia and Azerbaijan-phobia policy has already become official ideology of Armenia. Criminal regime of previous government was overthrown two years ago. There were the hopes that new government would put an end to hostility and hatred. Unfortunately, new government continued to follow the same path, and Pashinyan's dictatorial regime poses a threat to peace and security in the region. Unfortunately, international organizations turn a blind eye to the actions of Pashinyan regime. The dictatorship has already become official policy of Armenia. Criminal investigations are underway against two former Armenian presidents. Journalists die in prison. Political opposition is being harassed. Pashinyan is new dictator of Armenia. Unfortunately, however, human rights organizations that position themselves as defenders of people suffering in prison do not respond to this. This is a demonstration of double standards. Dictatorial regime of Armenia must be stopped, and if international community does not stop them, Azerbaijan will. International community tolerates injustice and occupation, and countries with a mandate to create conditions for the negotiations cannot achieve their goals, so Armenia ignores their statements. The presidents of Minsk group co-chair countries have repeatedly made statements about the unacceptability of the status quo, but Armenia ignores them and shows disrespect for this organization. The UN Security Council has 4 resolutions demanding complete and unconditional withdrawal of Armenian troops from our territories. Armenia has practically been ignoring these resolutions for 30 years, and now their Minister of defence says that there will be new war for new territories against Azerbaijan. The Prime Minister says “Karabakh is Armenia”. He demonstrates that he is a liar not only within the country and at international level, the fact that he is a liar is well known to all the Armenian people. The statement that Karabakh is Armenia is another part of dirty lie. Pashinyan says that Azerbaijan should negotiate with puppet Nagorno-Karabakh regime, which means the changing the format of the negotiations. He states illegal settlement of Armenians from Lebanon in occupied territories. They organize military exercises in occupied territories. They hold fictional swearing-in ceremony for fictional leader of criminal regime in Nagorno-Karabakh in Shusha, ancient city of Azerbaijan. They decide to move fictional Parliament of Nagorno-Karabakh criminal junta to Shusha, and they think that we will tolerate all this. This is direct insult to the feelings of Azerbaijani people. We will never accept this and tap they in place. If international community cannot stop mad dictator, Azerbaijan will. Azerbaijan will tap they in place and restore its territorial integrity. We are grateful to Pakistan for its resolute position on territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. Pakistan is a country that does not recognize Armenia because of the occupation of Azerbaijani lands. This is real manifestation of brotherhood. In all the matters, Pakistan is always with us. Recently, the Minister of foreign affairs of Pakistan made the statement related to Armenia's provocation against our country. This statement completely supports our work in the way of truth. Receiving the credentials of newly appointed Ambassador of Pakistan to Azerbaijan, the President of the country said: "We feel this support during the whole time of our cooperation. The President of Turkey has repeatedly expressed his very strong position on the matter of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict and, during Armenian aggression, he has repeatedly openly stated that Turkey is close to us, Azerbaijan is not alone. All the leading political parties in Turkey also expressed their unanimous support for Azerbaijan. We are grateful to them. We are also grateful to our brothers from Pakistan, who have taken strong position at this important time. We see who is who, we see who is standing close to us, and we will never forget it. This friendship and brotherhood will be permanent."
