January 20th is a page of honour and heroism of our history.
Gabala District Police Department held an event on January 20th -the Day of National Sorrow. First of all, the blessed memory of brave sons and daughters of the motherland, who sacrificed themselves for the freedom of their homeland, was honoured with a moment of silence. Next, the head of department, Police Colonel Nadir Mammadov, opening the meeting noted that 27 years passed since the tragedy of our people, which took place on January 20, 1990. But no matter how much time has passed this bloody, but, at the same time, honoured date for our nation on the path of struggle for independence will never be forgotten. It has been brought to the attention, despite the fact that the imperial executioners on that day have shed the blood of so many brave sons and daughters, they were unable to force our people to turn from the honoured path of independence and freedom. Contrary, the freedom of the will of our people has become even stronger and in a short time the brave sons of the motherland have succeeded. Azerbaijan has become a free, independent, sovereign state. Speakers at the event, informing in detail about the events of January 20, pointed out that this night is not only tragedy in the history of Azerbaijan, but also a day of awakening of the freedom desire of our national ideology. As reported, the tragedy on January 20, to the end of time engraved in the memory of our nation and will never be forgotten, the cherished memory of our martyrs, who gave their lives for the independence of the motherland, will live forever in the hearts of pro-Azerbaijan people.
