Schoolchildren from 9 regions and cities who participate in the tour campaign, held under the motto "Learning our country", visited Gabala region.

On the instructions of the President of Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev another educating tour-campaign entitled "Learning our country" was launched from March 15th to 18th for schoolchildren of the IX-XI classes from cities and districts of the Republic. Members of 9 groups, consisted of schoolchildren from Ganja, Goygol, Samukh, Shamkir, Goranboy, Kelbajar, Khojaly, Terter and Gadabay, who participate in the tour campaign carried out along the Gabala-Shaki-Zagatala route arrived in Gabala at noon on March 15. Representatives of the Executive Power of the region and the Department of Education met schoolchildren in front of the Heydar Aliyev Center in the city of Gabala. After lunch, schoolchildren who were accommodated in the hotels "Caucasus Karvansaray" and "Caucasus Sport" started to get acquainted with Gabala. First of all, according to the program on the bank of the river Demiraparan, an action on tree planting under the slogan "Learning our country" was carried out to with the participation of totally 360 schoolchildren and their teachers. During the action on gardening carried out at the initiative of the Public Association IDEA, schoolchildren planted 360 seedlings of fir, maples and oak poured them. Then during the walk, the schoolchildren were given detailed information about the significance of the tour campaign being of an educational nature and which will be organized along the Gabala-Shaki-Zagatala route. It was reported that according to the program of the tour campaign on March 15-18 they will get acquainted with the works carried out in the direction of social and economic development of Gabala, Shaki and Zagatala regions, institutional properties built in recent years, recreation centers, cultural and historical monuments, geography, tourist attractions and museums of the region. One of the places that aroused interest of schoolchildren on the first day of their visit to Gabala was Lake Nokhur. Schoolchildren who went for a walk around the lake, located on a thick wooded and mountainous terrain, took commemorative photographs there. Then the schoolchildren, who went on an excursion to the "Zoo" in the village of Yengija, were given detailed information about the animals kept there. Note that on March 16 all participants of the tour campaign will visit Shaki and Zaqatala. On March 17 schoolchildren will get acquainted with historical places, tourist attractions and industrial enterprises of Gabala.
