UNICEF Centre and Regional Office of the Eastern Europe and CIS countries held a seminar in Gabala.
Today at the "Qafkaz Riverside Hotel" of Gabala city a seminar with the support of UNICEF Centre and Regional Office of the Eastern Europe and CIS countries was held on development of security mechanisms of the population in the areas with a high risk of disasters.
Opening the event with introduction, Deputy Head of the Executive Power of Gabala Region, Abil Aghasafov, informed the participants of the seminar about the State's implementation of works in the direction of education and training of the population for the taking place in recent years, torrents, floods, earthquakes, forest fires and other characteristic disasters, said about the level of knowledge and skills of people to protect themselves from these disasters.
Then the floor was given to the disaster risks analysis expert, Alexandra Galperina. During the presentation, the expert referred to various types of hazards and vulnerable conditions that can cause harm in conventional places to people, property, livelihoods, infrastructure and services.
Then the event participants divided into three groups and exchanged views.
