The IV International Grand Prix competitions on trap shooting, held in the Trap Shooting and Archery Complex in the Bum settlement of the Gabala region, dedicated to the 95th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev, was completed.

The IV International Grand Prix competitions on trap shooting, held in the Trap Shooting and Archery Complex in the Bum settlement of the Gabala region, dedicated to the 95th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev, was completed. The qualification stage and the final of the competitions on the skeet shooting took place on May 12. In this competition, 35 athletes from 9 countries shot 125 targets. 6 shooters who scored a high score in each of the competitions held among men, women and youth won the right to participate in the final. In this stage, the athletes shot at 60 targets. In the final among women, Nurlana Jafarova won a gold medal with 53 points, Regina Meftahatdinova with 49 points won silver medal, eight-time world champion Russian Svetlana Domina with 46 points won bronze medal. In the men's competition, the shooter from Bahrain, Hasan Muhammad won the first place with 57 points, Georgia's representative Vladimir Narchinashvili with 54 points - the second, Azerbaijani athlete Emin Jafarov with 45 points - the third place. Among the youth, Georgian athlete Levan Kapanadze won first place with 98 points, Azerbaijani sportsmen Javid Hasanov with 97 points and Fagan Namazov with 88 points took the second and third places, respectively. Then the awarding ceremony took place. Medals were awarded to athletes by the First Vice-President of the Azerbaijan Shooting Federation Hafiz Jafarov, Vice President of the "Gabala" Shooting Club Elvin Ismayilov and the responsible employee of the Ministry of Sports and Youth Ulviyya Hajiyeva. 70 sportsmen from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Georgia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Russia, Iran, United Arab Emirates and Bahrain took part in the competitions that took place with the organization of the "Gabala" Shooting Club, and with the support of the Azerbaijani Shooting Federation, the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Azerbaijan in this grandiose competition was represented by 26 athletes. In this prestigious competition, which lasted from May 8 to 12, the athletes competed for 6 sets of medals. In total, Azerbaijani athletes won 2 gold, 5 silver and 3 bronze medals. For information, a Russian medalist Alexey Alipov received a gold medal with 47 points among men in trench competitions that was held a day earlier, Azerbaijani athlete Tamerlan Mammadov received a silver medal with 46 points, and shooter from Russia Alexey Gulyaev with 36 points received a bronze medal. And in competitions among women Natalya Zvyagintseva from Russia took first place, Azerbaijan shooter Aydan Jamalova - second place, shooter from Ukraine Alyona Ahotska - third place. In the competitions among the youth, Azerbaijani athletes Sabir Mehdizade, Mirmomin Aghazade and Vagif Mammadov took the first, second and third places, respectively.
