Works of great composer Gara Garayev were performed in the Gabala festival.

A chamber music night dedicated to the 100th anniversary of great Azerbaijani composer Gara Garayev was held within the framework of the successfully continuing the X Gabala International Music Festival on August 5, at the Heydar Aliyev Congress Center. The great composer`s “Quartettino” for the String Quartet (3 parts – “Sonatina”, “Lay-Lay” and “March”), “Sonata for violin and piano” and two romances were performed at the concert. The “Furioso” Quartet, which performed in the beginning of the concert, was established by the students of the Baku Music Academy named after U.Hajibayli in 2011. The quartet, established under the guidance of the dean of the Faculty of Performing in the Academy, Honored Art Worker Nazmiyya Abbaszade, refused outdated traditions and succeeded in creating new style in performing. The members of the quartet -Said Mammadov (violin), Suleyman Babakishizade (violin), Uzeyir Mahmudbeyli (viola) and Asmar Kerimli (cello) participated in several international festivals up to now. The "Furioso" Quartet performed the composer’s work-“Quartettino” for the string quartet that was not printed and performed by now, at the concert dedicated to 100th anniversary of Gara Garayev, for the first time. The manuscript of the work was printed by being taking from Russian State Archive of Literature and Art by member of the quartet S. Babakishizade in 2017. At the chamber music night the performances of pianists Samira Ashumova and Eldaniz Alakbarzade, violin player Anar Seyidov and Adil Akhundov (tenor) aroused interested in the audience.
