The conference of educational employees was held.

On September 5 traditional September conference of educational employees was held in Gabala. First and foremost, the participants of the conference visited the monument of the Great Leader in the center of the city and put flowers in front of the monument. Then the conference started its work in the conference hall of “Qafqaz Resort Hotel”. Opening the event, the Head of the Gabala Region Educational Department Arifa Bayramova noted that 68 secondary schools, as well as 53 full secondary schools, 12 general secondary schools and 3 primary schools were in function, 1170 children involved in 66 pre-school preparation groups, 15980 children were involved in 973 classes in the report year. Pupil contingent together with the pre-school preparation groups consisted of 17150 members and 2279 teachers were engaged in their education. It was emphasized that the role of the subject Olympiad is quite important in acquiring deep, fundamental knowledge, revealing talents of well-educated pupils and enhancing creativity and research inclination of these children. Therefore, the heads of the educational department and the secondary schools, as well as leading subject teachers of the region paid an attention to this direction. As a result of the implemented work, 363 pupils participated in the regional stage of the subject Olympiads and 73 pupils participated in the zone stage held in Ismayilli, 11 of them got the right to participate in the republican tour, and 6 pupils won the republican tour in the current academic year. It was noted that the teachers of the region took an active part in the pedagogical lecture organized for the first time within the framework of “Year of Quality in Education”. Approximately 30 pedagogical workers participated in the regional selection stage, after the hearings and discussions held by the commission two reports having innovative nature and strict practical significance were submitted to the Organizing Committee of the Country under the presentation letter. Both reports submitted to the Republican Organizing Committee won the competition and were awarded with the 1st and 2nd places. In the academic year of 2017-2018, 814 pupils of 1164 graduates submitted their applications to higher education institutes, 508 of them got the chance to be student, and 50 of them earned more than 600 points. It was noted that numerous measures were taken in the region in order to strengthen and modernize the material and technical bases of the schools. Thus, school buildings in modular type were built for general secondary education school in Laza village of the region with 80 seats, and elementary school in Zargarli village with 56 seats, roofing materials of the Bum settlement secondary school, Zaraghan village No.1 secondary school and Mammadaghali village secondary school were changed. It was noted that the construction of the new school building with 380 seats for Vandam settlement No.2 secondary school, as well as the establishment of primary schools of modular type in Garadeyin village with 80 seats and in Shafili village with 20 seats will be started. In their speeches at the Conference, Deputy Head of the Department of Socio-Political and Humanitarian Issues of REP Ataya Osmanova, the representative of the Ministry of Education Subhi Kazimov spoke about the successful results of the educational reforms carried out in our country and the tasks set on the pedagogical community. Speakers evaluated the achievement of the high indicators as a result of the work carried out in order to improve the quality of education. They expressed their gratitude to the pupils and teachers who contributed to the achievement of this success. The final results of the previous academic year were analyzed at the conference, upcoming issues and measures of new academic year were thoroughly discussed. Then a group of teachers and students were awarded with honorary gifts and valuable presents. At the end of the meeting, the text of the appeal addressed to President Ilham Aliyev on behalf of the conference participants was read.
