Preliminary works for the pilot census, to be held in Gabala, have been completed.
In order to ensure the implementation of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated on September 7, 2016 "On conducting a population census in the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2019", preparatory works were completed for a pilot population census to be held from October 1 to 10 in Gabala region, for assessment of the situation with preparation for the population census. In accordance with the "Calendar Plan for the preparation and conduct of the Population Census in 2019 in the Republic of Azerbaijan" approved by the Decree of the Statistics Committee dated on January 17, 2017 in accordance with the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated on December 16, 2016 "On the plan of measures for the preparation and conduct of the population census in 2019 in the Republic of Azerbaijan", the committee prepared and approved all the necessary methodological and other materials for the pilot census, including census forms and questionnaires, organizational plan and information form on it, instructions for filling them out. In order to ensure timely and organized implementation of the preparation for the pilot census and the activities envisaged for its implementation and prompt elimination of emerging difficulties, a commission was established in the Gabala Region Executive Power to assist in the population census, the distribution of the settlements' territories based on a schematic plan and maps for census, instructor and enumeration areas, methodological and other materials, sheets and questionnaires to the census have been printed and transferred to their destination. Form number 1 for the city, form number 2 for the village and addition were filled in the Representative offices in 60 administrative-territorial areas (1 city, 3 settlements, 56 villages) of the region, handed over to the Gabala Region Statistics Department, State Committee for Property Issues presented schematic map of the area and a schematic plan of settlements to the State Statistics Committee. Civil law contracts were concluded with 445 persons who will take part in the census of 8 census, 70 instructor and 359 counting stations established in the region, in accordance with the plan for briefing on census stations the trainings were conducted for heads of census stations, their deputies, instructors-supervisors and census takers, they were explained in detail the goals and objectives of the census, the rules for conducting censuses and compiling census documents. The State Statistics Committee and the Gabala Region Executive Power carried out extensive explanatory and educational work among the residents of the region, the meetings with public representatives were organized for this purpose, interviews and printed materials were distributed in local media.
