International academic conference is being held in Gabala city.
The international academic conference on the subject “Azykh cave and migration flows in Azerbaijan”, dedicated to 50-years of finding of early hominid Azykh man in Azerbaijan, continues in Gabala Archaeological Center operating in Gabala region under the organization of Presidium of ANAS, Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography of ANAS and SEBA (Seoul-Baku) Azerbaijan-Korean Cultural Exchange Association. The participants of the conference became acquainted with unique examples of material culture dated back to the different periods of history of Azerbaijan and the region, exhibited in the lobby of Gabala Archaeological Center before the meeting. Then representative of SEBA (Seoul-Baku) Azerbaijan-Korean Cultural Exchange Association, leading scientific employee of Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography of ANAS, PhD in history Irada M.Najafova, who is one of the organizers of the international conference, greeted the participants of the conference on behalf of SEBA and gave information about establishment and operation of Gabala Archaeological Center. The documentary film dedicated to archaeological researches performed in Gabala was shown for the participants of the conference. Along with Azerbaijani scholars, specialists from England, Russia, Georgia and Ukraine made scientific reports on the subjects dedicated to historical and major importance for the world science, of discovery of Azykh man by prominent archaeologist Mammadali Huseynov in the process of the researches of the Palaeolithic age settlement site in Azykh cave of Azerbaijan in 1968 and the researches performed on the monuments of the Palaeolithic age of Eurasia, on archaeology of the Palaeolithic age within the framework of the programme. Director of Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography of ANAS, Professor Maisa Rahimova, incumbent member of ANAS, Director of Azerbaijan History Museum, Academician Naila Valikhanli, Academic secretary of Social Sciences Department of ANAS, Academician Nargiz Akhundova and chairperson of SEBA (Seoul-Baku) Azerbaijan-Korean Cultural Exchange Association Ruhangiz Heydarova participated in the conference.The conference will continue until October 5.
