Postal workers celebrated their professional holiday.
The professional holiday of postal workers, which started with the establishment of the Universal Postal Union (UPU), is widely celebrated annually on October 9 by all postal workers of the planet. At the International Postal Congress, held in 1874 in the Swiss city of Bern, an agreement was signed on the establishment of the UPU. At the congress, which was held with the participation of representatives from more than twenty countries, the main document was adopted, which determined the general principles of the UPU, the basic rights and obligations of members - the Universal Postal Convention. Azerbaijan Post has been a member of the UPU since 1993. Workers of the Gabala post office of Azerpocht LLC also celebrated their professional holiday on October 9. First, they laid flowers at the monument of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, expressed their deep respect for the blessed memory of the great leader. Then an extended meeting was held at the post office. Opening the festive event, the head of the postal branch, Rauf Karimov, brought to the attention that in recent years, as a result of the attention and care of the Head of State, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the quality of postal services in Azerbaijan has significantly increased, the material and technical base of postal communication has increased, new modern style buildings were built for the post offices in the regions, including our region, post offices being in need of repair had been overhauled and provided with modern equipment. Rauf Karimov mentioned that at the moment in all the post offices of the region, along with traditional services, other services are also provided to the population, including banking ones. At the meeting, the head of the post office of Bayramkohaly village, Namizad Isayev, the economist of the postal branch, Tukazban Osmanova, the chairperson of the trade union organization of the branch, Arzu Rasulov, and other speakers expressed their gratitude to the Head of State for his concern for the postal workers.
