Azerbaijanism is our main spiritual heritage.

The Spiritual Values Promotion Foundation under the Azerbaijani State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, together with the Gabala Region Executive Power, held a seminar on the subject "Moral values are an integral part of the ideology of Azerbaijanism". Teachers of secondary schools, teaching humanitarian subjects, religious figures, members of the public were invited to the event, held in the "Qafqaz Sport Hotel". The seminar was attended by Executive Director of the Spiritual Values Promotion Foundation Mehman Ismayilov, Head of the Department of Source Studies and Historiography of Baku State University, Professor Anar Iskenderov, Deputy Head of the Gabala Region Executive Power Arif Allahverdiyev. The event was opened with an opening speech by the Deputy Head of the Region Executive Power Arif Allahverdiyev. Speaking about the relevance of the issue on the agenda of the seminar, Arif Allahverdiyev thanked the leadership of the Spiritual Values Promotion Foundation for organizing an event in Gabala. Mehman Ismayilov, Executive Director of the Spiritual Values Promotion Foundation told about the history of creation and importance of the foundation. He noted that the Spiritual Values Promotion Foundation was created by the Order of our esteemed President Ilham Aliyev. The main task of the foundation, as it is shown in its name, is to promote our spiritual values. In addition, the fund performs a charitable mission. Mehman Ismayilov noted that the idea of Azerbaijanism occupies the main place in the promotion of spiritual values. He noted that despite the fact that the beginnings of the ideas of Azerbaijanism were tried to be spread 100 years ago, since the times of the Azerbaijani People’s Republic, the great leader Heydar Aliyev was the founder of this idea. Azerbaijanism occupied the main place in the policy of development of national-spiritual values of Heydar Aliyev. This idea is successfully continued by the worthy successor of the great leader Mr. President Ilham Aliyev. The result of successful development of Azerbaijan’s policy is that today representatives of all peoples living in Azerbaijan consider themselves as the full-fledged citizens of this country. As a result of this policy, Azerbaijan is among the most tolerant countries in the world. Professor of Baku State University, Anar Iskenderov, recalled the story of one of the ancient states that existed on the territory of Azerbaijan - Albania. It was noted that over 20 nations lived in this state, the capital of which was located in Gabala. Professor Anar Iskenderov noted that since the middle of the XIX century, prominent representatives of the Azerbaijani intelligentsia have done a great job for the revival of Azerbaijan, the word Azerbaijani, the Azerbaijani language, and Abbasgulu Aga Bakikhanov and Mirza Fatali Akhundzade were tireless travelers on this path. Hasan bey Zardabi, who passed through the thorns for the publication of the Ekinchi newspaper in 1875, which is the first printed publication in the Azerbaijani language, stands at the top of the Azerbaijani enlighteners of that period. Anar Isgandarov told in detail about the work done and its results in strengthening and propagating the idea of Azerbaijanism after the restoration of state independence in our country, in particular, in 1993 after the great leader Heydar Aliyev came to power. Gulsafa Arzumanova, teacher of the secondary school No. 2 of Zaragan village of the region spoke at the meeting on the topic. The seminar was summed up by the Deputy Head of the Region Executive Power Arif Allahverdiyev.
