50 thousand units of mulberry seedlings, to be imported from China, will be planted in the territory of the Gabala region.
In order to create new mulberry gardens on the territory of the Gabala region, it is planned to plant 50 thousand units of mulberry seedlings out of 1 million brought to our country from China. For this purpose, land plots belonging to municipal and private property were identified in the settlements and villages of the region for planting seedlings. In addition, in order to strengthen the nutritional base of sericulture in the autumn season, 140 thousand units of local mulberry seedlings are planted in the region. Work in this direction has already begun, and in a short time, 59 thousand units of mulberry seedlings were planted. The largest number of seedlings was planted in the Vandam settlement, Bayramkokhaly, Tyuntyul, Bunud, Kurd and Soltannukha villages, as well as a number of other villages where silkworm breeding is a traditional economic sector. Note that in order to develop sericulture and increase the production of raw cocoons in the future in the period of 2016-2017, 170 thousand units of mulberry seedlings were planted in the region. 110 thousand of them were saplings brought from China. To date, 220 thousand mulberries have been planted in the region.
