The tragedy of January 20th is a chronicle of the honor and heroism of our history.
The 29th anniversary of the January 20th tragedy, which is immortalized in the memory of the people of Azerbaijan, is commemorated by a series of events in the Gabala region. Memorial ceremonies are held in the administration and organizations, educational institutions of the region, exhibitions are organized. The next event called “The Tragedy of January 20th is a chronicle of the honor and heroism of our history” was held at the Gabala Regional Telecommunications Center. The event was opened by the head of the center, Etibar Isayev, the sacred memory of the Martyrs of January 20th was venerated by a minute of silence. In his speech, he noted that January 20th was inscribed in the history of Azerbaijan not only as a national tragedy, but also as the pinnacle of our people’s national liberation movement for independence and freedom. It was noted that after the return of the national leader to political power in 1993, important steps were taken to investigate the causes of the January 20th tragedy and to bring the responsible people to responsibility. It was on the initiative of the great leader Heydar Aliyev that the tragedy of January 20th was given a political and legal assessment at the state level. It was said that this aggression could not morally crush our people, could not undermine its self-esteem and dignity, on the contrary, January 20th was written in the heroic chronicle of our people as a new page, and despite the fact that this page of our history was opened to the sounds of imperial bullets, it was inscribed in the heroic chronicle with the blood of our martyrs.
