Open classes are held at the Heydar Aliyev Center of the Gabala region in connection with the anniversary of the January 20th tragedy.

16 January 2019 | 23:00

January 20th entered the history as the heroic page of the struggle of our people for freedom. On that day, the brave sons and daughters of the Motherland, for whom the freedom, honor and dignity of the country and people were above all, giving their lives, rose to the top of martyrdom. This idea was voiced at the next open lesson for pupils of secondary schools, held at the Heydar Aliyev Center of the Gabala Region on January 15 in connection with the twenty-ninth anniversary of the January 20th tragedy. In an open lesson, the director of the Center, Kamala Gasimova, and the teacher of the secondary school of the Nij village Tural Mehdiyev brought to the attention that the massacre perpetrated in the city of Baku with special cruelty by the army of the Soviet empire on January 20th, 1990, is at the same time, one of the bloodiest terrorist acts in the history of mankind. It was noted that the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, who had become the voice of the people, on January 21st, 1990, together with his family members, arrived at the Permanent Mission of Azerbaijan in Moscow, held a press conference and expressed strong protest against the bloody events. It was noted that schoolchildren were also among our sons and daughters, who sacrificed their lives for the freedom and independence of our people on the bloody January night. 13-year-old Larisa Mammadova and Ilgar Ibrahimov did not yet have a clue about what death is. They couldn’t even imagine that they will get the top of the martyrdom. The big love for the Motherland, the dream of freedom in the little hearts of these little children, who spent their days with school friends, that night dragged them into the thick of it. At the open lesson, students of secondary school No. 4 of Gabala city read poems dedicated to the memory of the victims of the tragedy, a film was shown about the events of Bloody January.
