On January 17, 2019, a meeting was held in the Cultural Center of the Gabala region in connection with the 29th anniversary of the January 20 tragedy. The event began with a minute of silence for the dear memory of the Martyrs of January 20. Nargile Gafarova, the main adviser of the Ismayilli Regional Department of Culture Affairs on the Gabala region, spoke first at the event about this date and said that the January 20 tragedy, which on the one hand is sorrowful, and on the other hand a heroic page, was proof of heroism, struggle of our people for freedom. Then, Natavan Murshudova, organizer and methodologist of the Gabala region Cultural Center, spoke on the history of the tragedy. After that, the head of the Cultural Center of the Gabala region Malik Aghayev spoke and noted that the political and legal assessment of the events of January 20 became possible only after the return of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev to power. At the end of the event, in the foyer of the Cultural Center, a demonstration of drawings of the members of the drawing circle at the Cultural Center of the Gabala region was held in connection with the tragedy of January 20.
