Preventive vaccination work among animals is underway.
Since the beginning of the year, measures have been started in the region to vaccinate against anthrax among large cattle, one-hoofed cattle and pigs. In addition, blood samples are taken from large animals for the study of brucellosis. After completion of the measures, disinfection works are carried out on the territory. Currently, these measures are continued by veterinarians. It is planned to complete these works among large animals by the end of February. As part of the measures taken, from the beginning of the year up to present, measures were taken to vaccinate anthrax among the 250 animals on the farm owned by Gilan Dairy Farms and among more than 1000 animals on the individual farms of different persons, blood samples were taken from 350 large animals and sent to the laboratory to identify brucellosis and disinfection and pest control work was carried out on a plot of 520 square meters. Also, a veterinary inspection was conducted on pig farms and disinfection measures were taken to prevent the spread of swine flu (type A-H1N1), common among the population of Georgia, and to ensure epizootic stability on farms. As part of the measures taken, the veterinary specialists provided farmers with detailed information about the diseases of anthrax, brucellosis and “swine flu” and recommended to strictly follow the veterinary and sanitary rules.
