The results of socio-economic development in 2018 and the upcoming tasks were discussed at the reporting meeting in Gabala.
A reporting meeting was held on the results of socio-economic development in the Gabala region in 2018 and the upcoming tasks. First of all, the participants of the event came to Heydar Aliyev Park and laid flowers at the monument to the nationwide leader. Then, a reporting meeting was organized in the Gabala Cultural Center. The meeting was opened by the Head of the Region Executive Power, Mr. Sabuhi Abdullayev, he gave a detailed report on the work done in the socio-economic sphere in the Gabala region in 2018. It was noted that over the past period, in various sectors of the economy, products were produced of 246,101.0 thousand manats, compared to the previous year, the total output in the district increased by 25,177.0 thousand manats or 11.3%. In general, gross output in industry as compared with 2017 increased by 27,841.0 thousand manats or 82.6%, in agriculture - 2,294.0 thousand manats or 3.3%, in transport - 187.0 thousand manats or 4.9%, in connection - 81.0 thousand manats or 7.4%, in trade - 5,307.0 thousand manats or 16.5%. During this period, gross output per capita amounted to 2,307 manat. The average monthly nominal wage of 1,397 workers at industrial enterprises for the year amounted to 336 manat. The volume of investments in fixed assets amounted to 74,095.0 thousand manats, and in construction work - 70,692.0 thousand manats. From October 2003 to January 1, 2019, 18,642 new jobs were created, of which 16,843 were permanent. The number of new jobs created during the year amounted to 1 936 people, all these jobs are permanent. By the end of 2018, the local revenues of the region were fulfilled by 21,494.8 thousand manats (144.0%) or 6,564.8 thousand manats more than the predicted 14,930.0 thousand manats. The amount of local revenues amounted to 9,871.7 thousand manats (143.9%) or 3,012.6 thousand manats more than the projected 6,859.0 thousand manats, local expenses were met by 6,561.9 manats (95,7%) against the forecast of 6,859.0 thousand manats. Part of the revenue related to centralized income was performed at 11,600.2 thousand manats (144.4%) or 3,564.2 manats more than the forecast of 8,036.0 thousand manats. Only one of the 10 types of income projected for local incomes, which is a projected excise tax assignment was carried out with a deviation and less than 305.1 thousand manats on a specified income was received by the budget. The revenues of the region were executed on more than 3,012.7 thousand manats including more than 3,317.8 thousand manats on the other 9 types of income. In the reporting period, construction and installation work continued successfully in the region. Thus, in 2018, construction of orphanage-kindergarten in Gabala for 120 children and the Nij-Mykhlygovag-Yemishanly-Uludash-Tikanli-Abrykh highway was completed. Construction work was continued on the object of reconstruction of the water supply and sewage systems of Gabala city. In addition, a major overhaul was completed in two-story public residential buildings at 6 and 19 Heydar Aliyev Avenue, in a 5-storey residential building at Mukhtar Abduyev Street, in Zarifa Aliyeva Park, the roofs of residential buildings at 28 and 30 Heydar Aliyev Avenue were repaired , repair work was carried out in a kindergarten in Hajialili village, asphalt covering was laid on 23,880 square meters in Ahmad Javad, Mahammad Garibov, Ahmadagha Baghirov, Ismat Gaibov, Mirza Fatali Akhundov, Arif Hagverdiyev and Seyid Azim Shirvani Streets. During the year, the building of a secondary school for 80 students in Laza village and a primary school of modular type for 56 students in Zargarli village were built and put into operation. At present, installation works in the primary school building for 20 students in Shafili village, in a full modular secondary school for 80 students in Garadein village and construction works in the new school building number 2 for 360 students in Vandam settlement are underway. A project for the construction of a drinking water supply system in Mykhlygovag village of the region was completed, drilling of 8 sub-artesian wells was completed in the villages of Charkhana, Aydyngyshlag, Khyrkhatala, Yenikand, Tovla, Uludash, Tikanli and Bum settlement for the improved supply of irrigation water to the planted areas, needs of the population in drinking water. The construction of the 160-bed central hospital complex in Gabala, works to strengthen the coast, were carried out to protect Gabala from mudflows and floods on the Damiraparan river were continued, the construction of the 43-kilometer Lucky-Gabala railway was started. The number of foreign government officials and tourists visiting Gabala in 2018 also increased significantly. Important steps were taken towards the establishment of international relations, and many activities of international importance were carried out. In February, participants of the 6th International School of Multiculturalism from 16 countries visited Nij village in Gabala, they were provided with information about the Udi history. In May, the International Grand Prix in trap shooting competitions, dedicated to the 95th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev, were held in the Gabala Trap Shooting and Archery Complex, and the VI Youth Festival entitled “Living Pages of History” was held in June in Vandam settlement dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic and the 95th anniversary of the birth of nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev with the participation of 1,500 people, the VI International Tournament "Young Rescuer" and the Final Tour of the VII All-Republican Championship "Young Rescuer and Firefighter" was held in the Heydar Aliyev Congress Center with the participation of 350 people. During the reporting period, ambassadors of several states visited the Gabala region for acquaintance. During the visit, they got acquainted with historical sites and industrial enterprises of the region. In addition, on June 20-22, the delegation headed by the Head of the Region Executive Power took part in the jubilee events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Poland and the restoration of independence of the Republic of Poland, which took place in Gniezno of Poland. During the visit, the delegation got acquainted with a number of production facilities in Gniezno city, the historical and cultural attractions of the region, as well as the tourism industry. International music and film festivals, painting exhibitions, sports competitions and other events held in our region on the initiative and with the assistance of the First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ms. Mehriban Aliyeva, are of great importance for turning Gabala, which has its historical glory, into an attractive tourist destination. Famous musicians, musical bands and performers from around the world take part in international events. Also at the international exhibitions of painting organized in Gabala, the most famous masters of brush from different countries demonstrate examples of unique artworks created by them, and athletes demonstrate their skills at these prestigious competitions, as well as get acquainted with the material and spiritual culture of our people. The X Gabala International Music Festival, which was initiated and organized by Ms. Mehriban Aliyeva, also attracted the attention of the music world to Gabala with its magnificence. World-renowned musicians and music bands from countries such as Russia, Israel, the United States, Switzerland, Austria, Cuba, Hungary, Turkey, Spain, Italy, Georgia, as well as famous Azerbaijani musicians took part in this grandiose music festival. Speaking with the report, the chairperson of the Republican Council of Elders, MP Fattah Heydarov said that he attaches great importance to the development of the regions in Azerbaijan and that this policy is being successfully implemented by President Ilham Aliyev. Speaking about the current comprehensive development of the republic, it was noted that, thanks to the instructions and recommendations of President Ilham Aliyev, improvement works are carried out both in Gabala and elsewhere. New roads are being laid, education and health facilities are being built, reconstruction works are being carried out in electric and gas enterprises. All this contributes to the improvement of the well-being of the population, the improvement of its social status and living conditions. Speaking at the meeting, Rufat Aliyev, Head of the Department of the Presidential Administration for Territorial-Organizational Issues, spoke about the work done in 2018. In accordance with the recommendations and instructions of the Head of State, the upcoming tasks were analyzed. The appropriate decision was made at the meeting to ensure the fulfillment of the upcoming tasks, and an appeal was sent to the Head of State Mr Ilham Aliyev on behalf of the participants. In the end, a group of people who distinguished themselves in the socio-economic development of the region were awarded diplomas.
