Schoolchildren of the tour-campaign held under the slogan of “Learning our country” from 9 regions visited Gabala region.
According to the order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the educational tour-campaign called “Learning our country” intended for the 9th-11th grade pupils of the cities and regions of our republic continues. Members of 9 groups consisting of Aghdam, Aghjabadi, Aghstafa, Barda, Beylagan, Dashkasan, Gazakh, Goychay and Tovuz schoolchildren participating in the tour-campaign held on Gabala-Shaki-Zagatala route arrived in Gabala on March 23, at noon. Representatives of region executive power and education department welcomed the pupils in front of Heydar Aliyev Centre in Gabala city. Pupils, who settled in “Qafqaz Karvansaray” and “Qafqaz Sport” hotels in the region, began to become familiar with Gabala after lunch. Firstly, the tree planting campaign was held under the slogan of “Learning our country” on the banks of the Damiraparan River in accordance with the program with the participation of 360 pupils and teachers who lead them, in general. During the greenery planting campaign held at the initiative of IDEA Public Union, the schoolchildren planted fir-trees, maples and oak trees and watered them. Then during the walking, the pupils were provided with detailed information about the significance of this tour-campaign organized on Gabala-Shaki-Zagatala route and having an enlightening character. It was noted that, according to the program of the tour- campaign, on March 23-26, they would become familiar with the works carried out in the direction of socio-economic development of Gabala, Shaki and Zagatala regions, the social facilities, entertainment and recreation centres built in recent years, historical and cultural monuments, geography of the region, tourism facilities and museums. Nohur Lake was one of the places which attracted the attention of the pupils on the first day of visit to Gabala. The schoolchildren walking around the lake which located at densely forested and mountainous area took memory photos there. Then the pupils toured the “Zoologic garden” in Yengija village and received detailed information about the animals fed there. It must be noted that all participants of the tour-campaign will visit Shaki and Zagatala on March 24. The schoolchildren will become closely acquainted with historical sites, tourism facilities and manufacturing facilities of Gabala on March 25.
