The National Intellectual Game “Khamsa” took place.
In connection with the implementation of the relevant points of the State Program “Youth of Azerbaijan in 2017–2021” by the Youth and Sports Department of the Gabala region, on April 4, 2019, a selective stage of the XI Azerbaijan Championship in the National Intellectual Game “Khamsa” was held among young people in order to attract more young people to intellectual activities and to effectively organize leisure activities. At the opening ceremony of the event, the Head of the Region Youth and Sports Department, Fakhri Soltanov, in his speech welcomed the participants and spoke about the special attention that President Ilham Aliyev pays to the younger generation, the care given to young people in every sphere, and the successful development of state youth policies in the country, as well as the goals and objectives of the event. The main purpose of the National Intellectual Game "Khamsa" is to stimulate the intellectual level, worldview, mental development of young people, increase the authority of knowledge and science among them, promote the rich national culture and history of Azerbaijan, as well as introduce new methods for the effective organization of leisure activities for young people. At the regional stage, young people under the age of 29 years, within 16 teams, tested their knowledge and skills, as well as their intellectual level. At the end of the competition, the team of the Vandam village secondary school No. 1 took the 1st place, the team of the secondary school No. 4 of Qabala city took the 2nd place, and the team from the Bum village took the 3rd place. All three teams won a pass to the zone stage of the XI Azerbaijan Championship in the national intellectual game “Khamsa”, which will be held in Shaki. The winning teams were awarded diplomas of the Region Youth and Sports Department.
