The V Azerbaijani-Russian Interregional Forum came to an end in Gabala.

The V Azerbaijani-Russian Interregional Forum on "Interregional cooperation: new opportunities for development", held on June 23-24 in Gabala came to an end.
At the final plenary session the reports of "round table" moderators, held during the forum, were heard. In general, during the forum the "round tables" were held regarding the relations and prospects of cooperation in the fields of agriculture, tourism, banking, business and humanitarian relations, transport and energy.
Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy and Industry Shahin Mustafayev said that the forum covered the extensive subjects, and the fruitful discussions were held. Speakers noted that the Forum discussed new opportunities for cooperation in this area, the tourist potential of the two countries; exchange of views took place concerning the experience in agriculture, advanced technologies and novelties used in this field, various presentations of companies have been shown.
At the same time, during the "round table" dedicated to the banking, involving representatives of the Central Bank and some commercial banks, National Fund for Entrepreneurship Support from Azerbaijani side, and the various banks from Russia, discussed the history of the development of cooperation between banks of Azerbaijan and Russia, acquired achievements, joint implementation of projects and prospects for cooperation.
Within the sessions, entrepreneurs from both countries studied the potential of cooperation. In addition, the sides exchanged views on further expansion of the high-level relations in the humanitarian sphere. The successful cooperation in the field of energy and transport of Azerbaijan and Russia was noted and the upcoming works in the long term were mentioned.
Minister of Regional Development of the Russian Federation Igor Slyunyaev noted that the work of the Forum during the year should be maintained, and he emphasized the possibility of holding seminars for this purpose.
At the end, participants of the V Azerbaijani-Russian Interregional Forum issued an appeal to the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
The appeal says that on the joint initiative of the presidents the interregional forums held since 2010, has already become a good tradition and contribute significantly to the development of cooperation between our countries.
Then the appeal says: "During the fifth forum with the participation of members of parliaments of both countries, representatives of the regions, government agencies, private companies, as well as the media an exchange of views was held on the main directions of development of socio-economic and humanitarian relations.
Within the framework of "round tables" the prospects for interregional Azerbaijani-Russian cooperation in various fields were discussed."
The forum participants reported that entrepreneurs acquainted with the potential investment projects of both countries' regions, got the opportunity to establish the direct communication to build a mutually beneficial and long-term cooperative relations.
The document states: "Within the framework of the forum 6 agreements among departments and 5 business contracts were signed. The events of the forum were held in a warm and sincere atmosphere, and it is fully consistent with the traditional friendly relations between our peoples."
The forum participants expressed their belief that the conduct of such activities as a result of the political will and efforts of our leaders makes a significant contribution to strengthening of the strategic partnership established between the two countries.
In conclusion, the Minister of Economy and Industry of Azerbaijan Republic Shahin Mustafayev in his speech expressed his thanks to the participants of the forum, said that the discussions were held in an efficient and businesslike atmosphere. The Minister said that the next VI Russian-Azerbaijani Interregional Forum will be held following year in Yekaterinburg city, Russian Federation.
