During the spring season, 237 hectares of new hazelnut gardens were laid out in the region.
In order to ensure the fulfillment of the instructions of the Head of State regarding the further development of hazelnut cultivation, work is also continuing in Gabala in recent years. So, this year alone, at the beginning of the spring season, 237 hectares of new hazelnut gardens were laid out on the territory. In general, over the past three years, new hazelnut gardens have been laid out in an area of 2,137 hectares, and the total area of the existing hazelnut gardens has reached 6,247 hectares. Currently, there are hazelnut gardens in the area, which produce 4,827 hectares of crop. Last year, 9,200 tons of products were collected from hazelnut gardens. The production of hazelnuts increased by 1,800 tons compared with the previous year.
