Zone Shooting Competition was held among teenagers.
Zone shooting competition among teenagers was held on April 19, 2019, with the organizational support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports within the framework the “XII Republican Competition among Teenagers” program in the Gabala Trap Shooting Complex. The purpose of the competition is the development of shooting sports in the republic, the promotion of healthy lifestyles among adolescents, the further development and promotion of physical culture and sports in the regions of the country, as well as improving sports skills of adolescents, and the training of candidates for national teams. An officer of the Ministry of Youth and Sport, Ulviyya Hajiyeva, and the head of the Youth and Sports Department of the Gabala region, Fakhri Soltanov, spoke at the opening ceremony of the zone shooting championship and noted the state’s attention to sports and athletes in the country, the world’s recognition of Azerbaijan as a sports country and wished the teams success. Competitions are of team and individual nature. The teams taking the first and second places in the zone shooting competition will pass to the final stage. About 50 athletes from 10 cities and regions of the country competed at zone stage. According to the final result, the teams from Oguz and Gakh regions, held the I and II places respectively, and received a license for the final stage, which will be held in Sumgayit city.
