The III republican championship "Young rescuers and firemen" and II international competition "Young rescuers", dedicated to the 91st anniversary of the birth of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, came to the end.
The closing ceremony of the competition, held with the organizational assistance of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan and support of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, was attended by the Minister of Emergency Situations colonel-general Kamaleddin Heydarov, Minister of Education Mikail Jabbarov, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Ismail Ismailov. First, the Head of the Main Warning Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations major general Elshad Huseynov presented a report to the Minister colonel-general Kamaleddin Heydarov. Then, having a meeting with members of all teams in the camp, in which the competition took place, Minister Kamaleddin Heydarov became familiar with their outfit, physical and tactical grounding, and conditions created for eating occasion, asked about the state of the rescue and fire protection teams being prepared for emergencies, their training, the skills to use different techniques.
Teams successfully completed the operations in extinguishing conventional fire that occurred in a truck and a building, and in rescuing people trapped in a hopeless situation as a result of the conventional earthquake and landslide, in a short time, brought a fire under control, rescued people by various means. Teams demonstrated the operations supported by cynologists at the stage dedicated to "search and rescue work." Then, the ministers Kamaleddin Heydarov and Mikail Jabbarov within the "round table" answered the questions of young rescuers who came from different countries. They reported that the holding of such events will open up the great opportunities in gaining experience on emergency response. Young rescuers, who arrived from other countries, expressed their gratitude to the Minister of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan for hosting the event at such a high level.
Then, in the auditorium of the Cultural Center of Gabala the awarding ceremony of contestants was held. The ceremony began with a composition dedicated to natural and man-made emergencies, which has been staged by the young rescuers with their direct participation. A video about the competition, prepared by the MES, was also presented. Further performance of national songs and dances by the local and foreign teams that participated in the competition gave the event a special flavour. During the event, the Minister of Emergency Situations colonel-general Kamaleddin Heydarov, Minister of Education Mikail Jabbarov, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Ismail Ismailov said that the main objective of this competition consists of increasing the level of grounding of adolescents and youth in emergency situations, instilling in the students a responsible approach to the personal and public safety and instilling the military and patriotic spirit in the younger generation, promote a healthy lifestyle. Through the competition, adolescents and young people learn the rules of behavior in an emergency situation and they get interested in this sphere. It was noted that the teams that took a high place in the zonal competition held in various regions of our country, got the right to participate in the final. It became known that the teams from 16 cities and regions that are members of this competition, including the representatives from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus and Georgia competed for the first place on 5 stages - "Obstacle course", "Combined fire race", "Search and rescue", "Presentation of the teams" and "Young experts". In conclusion, the winning teams were awarded. They were awarded the diplomas and valuable gifts. The Minister Kamaleddin Heydarov presented the award to the winner of the republican competition - the team from Siyazan region, and participants of international competitions - the teams from Turkey, Georgia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia and Kyrgyzstan.
It was reported that in international competition first place was took by the team from Russia, the second place - by the team from Azerbaijan. Minister Kamaleddin Heydarov wished success to the young rescuers.
