Silk cocoon breeding is developing in Gabala.
It is expected that in the current season the production of raw cocoon in the Gabala region will double compared with the previous year and reach 20 tons. In connection with the cultivation of cocoons, an agreement was signed with 114 cocoon breeding families, 500 boxes were distributed among families, that is, 9.5 kilograms of silkworms. In general, more than 250 rural residents have been employed in silk cocoon breeding in the current season in Gabala. Currently, feeding the silkworm in the region is in accordance with the instructions. Over the past three years, 258,000 mulberry seedlings have been planted in the area to ensure the further development of cocoon breeding and to strengthen its forage base. 110,000 of the planted seedlings were grafted seedlings brought from the People's Republic of China for the purpose of planting intense-type mulberry orchards.
