An event dedicated to World Yoga Day was held in Gabala.
On the initiative of the Embassy of the Republic of India in Baku and the Gabala Region Executive Power, within the framework of the celebration of the 5th International Day of Yoga in Azerbaijan, an event dedicated to yoga was held in our city on June 15. The event, organized in the "Qəbələnd" entertainment center, was opened by the Head of the Gabala Region Executive Power Sabuhi Abdullayev, he said that the UN member states had adopted a resolution declaring June 21 as the International Day of Yoga on December 11, 2014. The head of REP, who said that yoga philosophy, which for centuries has been traditional in India, having an ancient culture, has become popular in Azerbaijan, as well as in other countries, supports the holding of events, projects and workshops by Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, President of the Yoga Federation of Azerbaijan Leila Aliyeva, devoted to the propaganda of yoga, he also noted that he regards the translation on her initiative of the book "Yoga and the power of thought", previously translated into many world languages , and writing introductory note to this book, as the highest relationship to multicultural values in our country. Congratulating the participants of the event dedicated to yoga in connection with the celebration of the International Day of Yoga, which is celebrated annually in most countries of the world, today in Gabala also, the head of REP stressed that events within the Week of Yoga in Azerbaijan will also be organized in Baku, Shamakhi and Lankaran. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Azerbaijan Vanlalvawna Bawitlung who took part in the event welcomed the yoga lovers and said that yoga consists of unity of physical exercises and respiratory techniques that strengthen the physical, intellectual and mental health of a person, and simple movements that people of all ages can perform. Then the yoga session began. A group of yoga fans performed their training with various body movements.
