State concern for the development of the social sphere is increasing.
As of August 1, 2019, 11052 recipients of a retirement pension were registered in the region, 7374 of which - for old age, 2914 - for disability, and 764 - for the loss of breadwinner. Starting from October 1, 2018, the use of new software for the payment of pensions was started, the transition to new software for the payment of benefits was completed, and cases were added to the system. In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic dated 02.25.2019 “On additional measures in the field of strengthening social protection of the population”, a monthly allowance of 50 AZN was assigned for 410 caregivers of the people with the first group disabilities and 523 - for caregivers of the children under the age of 18 years with limited health capacities, 488 first group disabled people were assigned a monthly allowance in the amount of 100.00 AZN. 503 war veterans were allocated 80 AZN per month instead of utility bills. In accordance with the aforementioned decree, the amount of social benefits and presidential pensions increased by an average of 80%. 33 branch beneficiaries were provided with sanatorium-resort vouchers, 63 people were provided with social services at home for single elderly and disabled people.
