VI Gabala International Music Festival started

The opening ceremony of VI Gabala International Music Festival was hosted with the organizational support of Heydar Aliyev Foundation. During the event, a letter of congratulations of the President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO Mehriban Aliyeva, playing a crucial role in the development and promotion of musical culture in Azerbaijan, was read to the participants of the festival.
Then, during a speech at the ceremony, one of the artistic directors of the festival, Rector of Baku Music Academy named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli, People's Artist Farhad Badalbeyli and Chairman of the Council of Elders of Azerbaijan, MP of Milli Majlis Fattah Heydarov, on behalf of the President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP of Milli Majlis Mehriban Aliyeva, welcomed all the guests, talented participants and musicians who came to our country from various places of the world to participate in a grand musical festival, and wished success to the festival.
Speakers noted that the festival serving propaganda of Azerbaijani culture is also an important tool for the promotion of the musical traditions of our country in the world. Then there was a concert of the Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra named after Uzeyir Hajibayli on the open air stage. The concert included excerpts from "Illustrations for the poem of Samad Vurgun" by Khayyam Mirzazade, "Allegro" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, "Albanian Rhapsody" by Gara Garayev and other famous Azerbaijani and European composers. During the concerts Kamran Omarli played violin and Honoured Artist Gulshan Annaghieva played piano. The conductor of the musical evening was People's Artist, possessor of the Order of "Glory", the Presidential Grant Holder Rauf Abdullayev.
The music festival, which runs until August 1st, will feature musicians, art groups, soloists and conductors of Azerbaijan and foreign countries.
