The new flights carried out from Moscow to Gabala will have the great impact on the development of tourism in the region.

“Metrojet” air Line Company of Russia started regular flights on route Moscow-Gabala-Moscow.
Deputy Head of Gabala District Executive Power Arif Allahverdiyev, Director General of “Metrojet” air line company Mordvinchev Sergey Petrovich, the head of the company’s representative office in our country Rahim Aliyev, the head of “Globus” tourism company, the partner of “Metrojet” air line company in Azerbaijan Eldaniz Safarov and others participated in the event held in Gabala International Airport on the occasion of solemn welcoming the first aircraft flying from Moscow in July 24. It was noted in the welcoming ceremony that the aircraft taking off from Domodedovo airport of Moscow in 18:00 (local time) landed in Gabala International Airport at 20:30 (local time). A total of 180 passengers were on the board the aircraft. Most of the passengers were the citizens of Azerbaijan and Russia as well as local and foreign businessmen, foreign tourists. The said aircraft flew from Gabala to Moscow at 22:00 in that day. 175 passengers were on the board aircraft flying from Gabala to Moscow. The flights will be carried out by “Airbus 320” airliner every week on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. It was mentioned in the welcoming ceremony that “Metrojet” was planning to organize daily flights from Moscow to Gabala as well as carry out flights from Gabala to other cities of Russia in the future. “Metrojet” air Line Company organizes regular tour packages to Gabala and other touristic regions of Azerbaijan together with “Globus” Tourism Company for Russian tourists at present. The main goal on the opening the new regular flights from Gabala to foreign countries is to provide service to passengers as well as foster the development of tourism in Gabala, northern and north-eastern regions according to the State program on socio-economic development of regions conducted in our country and promote the opportunities of local tourism by involving foreign tourists. During speeches made it was mentioned that a numerous flights from Gabala International Airport to more than 20 European countries and one flight to African and American continents had been conducted up to this day. Gabala-Moscow-Saint-Petersburg, Moscow-Gabala, Baku-Gabala flights are regularly carried out from Gabala International Airpoirt at present. The regular flights carried out on Moscow-Gabala and Gabala-Moscow-Saint-Petersburg route from November, 2012 up to now are organized by “EK Alliance” air Line Company of Russia.
