A memorable futsal tournament dedicated to the "Day of remembrance of National Leader Heydar Aliyev" was held.

Based on the plan of events dedicated to the “Day f remembrance of National Leader Heydar Aliyev”, Gabala region Department of Youth and Sports held a memorable futsal tournament among schools in Gabala Olympic Sports Center on December 10, 2019. The purpose of the tournament is to bring to the attention of the public the work had been carried out for the development of our modern Azerbaijan, the activities of bright Leader, who devoted his life to his native people, laid the foundations of national statehood, in the field of strengthening economic potential of our country, reforms had been carried out in the field of sports, including in other areas, as well increase and improving the sportsmanship of the participants of the competition. First of all, the participants of the tournament paid tribute to the memory of Heydar Aliyev with a moment of silence. Further, at the opening ceremony of the event, the head of Gabala region Department Youth and Sports, Fakhri Soltanov and the director of Gabala Olympic Sports Complex, Matlab Karimov, the methodologist of Gabala region Education Department, Ibrahim Fakhulov, spoke and told about the life and activity of the famous person, prominent statesman Heydar Aliyev, about his irreplaceable merits in the establishment and strengthening of the independent Azerbaijan Republic, the work had been carried out, and the achievements of our country in the field of sports. Speakers in their speeches, also told about the strengthening of material and technical base of sports in Gabala region, the attention and care of President Mr. Ilham Aliyev to the sportsmen, wished success the participants of the competition. At memorable tournament, 8 teams showed tense game. In the final result of the tournament, the first place was taken by Vandam village complete secondary school No. 1, and the second place was taken by Gabala city complete secondary school No. 4. The winners were awarded the cup and diplomas of Gabala region Department of Youth and Sports.
