The tree-planting campaign was held in honor of the 650th anniversary of Nasimi in Gabala region.
The initiative of the First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ms. Mehriban Aliyeva, to plant 650,000 trees a day was met with great enthusiasm in the Gabala region, as elsewhere in the country. This initiative was also regarded as a tribute to the 650th anniversary of the great poet and thinker Imadaddin Nasimi, one of the prominent figures of classical Azerbaijani poetry. Since October, serious preparatory work has been carried out for a major tree-planting campaign. Tree planting areas have been identified. These sections were levelled, ditches were dug for water supply pipes. On December 6, hundreds of Gabala residents gathered in the territory intended for planting trees. For a short period, 6,500 tree seedlings were planted in this territory that corresponded to the climatic conditions of the region, and the planted trees received the necessary care. Rufat Aliyev, the Head of the Territorial Organizational Department of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Sabuhi Abdullayev, the Head of the Gabala Region Executive Power, heads of district law enforcement agencies, other departments and enterprises took part in the tree planting campaign, and planted trees. Note that the residents of Gabala with great enthusiasm joined the planting of trees. Preserving and improving landscaping is very important for future generations. On the other hand, the main beauty and attractiveness of Gabala, which is becoming increasingly popular as a tourist destination, is associated with landscaping, forests and gardens. Each citizen of Gabala takes part in this process heartily.
