Gabala received the next participants of the "Learning Our Country" tour-campaign.
Within the second stage of the educational campaign under the slogan “Learning Our Country”, organized this fall, on the recommendation of President Ilham Aliyev, groups of students from 9 regions who went on a tour-campaign along the Gabala-Sheki-Zagatala route arrived in Gabala on November 18 noon. The region authorities warmly welcomed students from Gazakh, Aghstafa, Tovuz, Gadabay, Shamkir, Samukh, Neftchala, Salyan and Hajigabul regions in front of the Karvansaray Hotel. The Deputy Head of the Region Executive Power, Ataya Osmanova, told the students about the history, culture, economy and tourism potential of ancient Gabala. After lunch, schoolchildren from the Karvansaray and Qafqaz Sport hotels started to get acquainted with the Gabala region. For the first time they took part in a tree planting campaign on Zarifa Aliyeva Avenue in Gabala city. The first acquaintance of the participants of the tour with the sights of Gabala started with an excursion to the zoo in Yengija village. Schoolchildren were informed about the animals here. Then the students went to Lake Nohur, one of the most popular recreation areas in the region. It was reported that Lake Nohur, located at an altitude of 700 meters above sea level, is surrounded by dense forests and mountains. The lake with a total area of 240 hectares has a depth of 24 meters, and the volume of water is 16 million cubic meters. In the following days of the excursion, students from nine regions will be able to get acquainted with historical places, attractions of the Sheki and Zagatala regions, as well as Gabala.
